Chamber FAQ

Where is the Nassau County Chamber of Commerce located?

The Chamber office is located at 961687 Gateway Blvd., Suite 101-G in Fernandina Beach (across from Cantina Louie and Captain Jack's).

What is the role of the Chamber of Commerce?

For more than 67 years, our role has been to drive economic growth and community advancement in Nassau County. This is accomplished by protecting and improving the business environment and quality of life in our community through programming and initiatives. Additionally, we work diligently and advocate for the success of our members, ensuring strong leadership for our community, and ultimately fostering overall prosperity in our region.

What is the relationship of the Chamber of Commerce to city/county government?

While not a government entity, the Chamber of Commerce works closely with all local and state government officials and staff to ensure the interests of the business community are understood and communicated properly.

How are Chamber programs and services financed?

All of our revenue is derived from annual membership dues, special events, sponsorships and management agreements. The Chamber is a membership-based not-for-profit 501(c)(6) organization.

Does the Chamber receive any tax dollars?

No. We do not seek or receive any local, state or federal tax dollars, and our organization is not subsidized by any government entities.

What differentiates the Chamber from other business organizations?

Advocacy work is the cornerstone of what we do at the Chamber of Commerce. Most members are busy operating their businesses, and as such, rely on us to be their voice on the issues that impact them directly. Whether providing input into a long-range water plan for the city or supporting changes in state unemployment insurance, we're always working to create the best possible business environment for Nassau County. The Chamber gives you access to more than 800 business members, representing over 10,000 employees and 200 business categories in the county. The strength of our organization comes from the diversity of our members.

Does the Chamber have a Leadership program?

Yes. Leadership Nassau is the county's longest-running and most exclusive leadership development program - currently in its 23rd year! The purpose of Leadership Nassau is to assist in the development of community leaders by providing participants from diverse backgrounds with an understanding of the problems, opportunities and issues facing the community. Additionally, the program will foster the development of leadership skills and techniques in an environment that encourages the establishment of new relationships and communication between the participants. For additional information about the program and to apply, please contact the Chamber at  info@NassauCountyFLChamber.com or (904) 261-3248.

Can you provide me with social media assistance or training?

Social media is constantly evolving and can be overwhelming for a lot of our members. Because of this, we make sure to have various Hot Topics workshops and Work Lab sessions that are dedicated to teaching the ins and outs of social media. Visit the Chamber Events Calendar to register for upcoming workshops and trainings.

Have you seen my particular business issue before?

It may be uncomfortable telling Chamber staff the issues facing your business, but it's worth it. The BRIC, or the Business Resource and Innovation Center, is a place where members can go for free business counseling and expertise. With decades of experience, if you can think of an issue pertaining to business, we've probably seen it before. Stop by the office or give us a call at (904) 261-3248. We are ready to provide the resources, connections, and guidance you need to get through any challenge that might come your way.

Can you explain the referral process?

We are a resource for visitors and locals alike when it comes to referrals. The Chamber provides referrals in person, over the phone, through the Business Directory on our site, social media and email. Make sure your business profile on the site and marketing materials in our office are up-to-date, ensuring staff members can accurately answer questions and provide potential customers with the best possible information.

Does the Chamber have advertising opportunities for my business?

Even if you have a very small advertising budget, we have resources and advertising programs that will work for you. From paying a small fee for a banner ad on our site to the member-to-member online coupon feature, there are many different ways to promote your business without spending a lot of money. Businesses with a larger budget can also purchase an ad on our Discovery Map of Amelia Island & Surrounding Areas or the Discover Nassau Life & Leisure Guide

What networking activities do you host?

We are advocacy focused, but networking is crucial when trying to do business in this community, and therefore, we make sure to host a variety of networking events throughout the year. Visit the Chamber Events Calendar and register for events like Business After Hours, Coffee & Connections and the Westside LunchMob, just to name a few.
