How does Nassau County plan for growth while keeping traffic moving? The video below explains the County’s Mobility Plan, developed by the Board of County Commissioners to ensure new development pays for its impact on the transportation system.

For each proposed new structure, either home or business, roadway and intersection performance is analyzed to determine its impact on the local mobility network. Each affected roadway is measured against population growth and adopted level-of-service standards to identify capacity deficiencies and needed improvements. These data-driven evaluations help pinpoint where road and intersection upgrades are required, reducing congestion and supporting safe, efficient travel for residents now and in the future.
