Nassau County Provides CR 121 Traffic Update

The CR 121 project has been an important initiative for our community, aimed at improving safety, traffic flow, and connectivity along this key corridor. Nassau County will continue to provide weekly updates with progress and potential impacts, so the community stays informed every step of the way.

Current Time: Contract day as of 01/30/26 - 151 of 545 (27.7%)

  • Contract Time Began: September 2nd, 2025
  • Current Completion date: February 28th, 2027.

Work performed the week of January 26, 2026:

  • Contractor continued drainage work
  • Removed and installed 82 linear feet of 24 inch diameter Reinforced Concrete Pipe
  • Backfilled, cleaned, and dressed each location
  • Finishing culvert south of Horseshoe Circle South where the lane closure with temporary traffic signal is installed
  • Placed embankment for guardrail pad.

Activities for the week of February 2, 2026

  • Begin pavement removal in section closed to traffic between the two intersections with Horseshoe Circle.
  • Install guardrail on west side culvert south of Horseshoe Circle where the lane closure with temporary traffic signal is installed.
  • Continue Drainage Structure Replacement and/or Extension Activities

  • Monday 02/02/26: Milling existing pavement within current closure
  • Tuesday 02/03/26: Milling existing pavement within current closure
  • Wednesday 02/04/26: Milling existing pavement within current closure
  • Thursday 02/05/26: Milling existing pavement within current closure
  • Friday 02/06/26: Pipe Milling existing pavement within current closure
  • Saturday: No work scheduled
  • Sunday: No work scheduled.

THRU Traffic

  • CR 121 from the Duval/Nassau County Line to the CR 119 Intersection is under major construction and closed to thru traffic. Motorists should research their route and use the marked detour route or other alternate routes to reach their destination.
    • The marked detour route for THRU TRAFFIC is along the US 90, US 301 and CR 119 routes.
  • The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution to regulate truck traffic along the construction project on January 21, 2026. Regulatory signs of "NO THRU TRUCKS" and"EXCEPT LOCAL DELIVERY" were installed on January 22, 2026, designating the section of CR 121 from the Duval/Nassau County Line to the Intersection of Stokes Road subject this resolution.

Local Traffic, including Local Delivery

  • CR 121 is planned to be closed to all traffic between the Horseshoe Circle South and Horseshoe Circle North intersections until May, 2026, with a detour along Horseshoe Circle.
  • CR 121 has one lane closed just south of the Horseshoe Circle South Intersection, with alternating two-way traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals. The current traffic pattern is expected to stay in place until February 9th, 2026
  • Daily closures of one lane at a time will take place to replace cross drain culvert pipes from 9:00am to 5:00pm Traffic will be controlled by flaggers in these locations.
