Community Hospice & Palliative Care Earns Accreditation from the National Institute for Jewish Hospice

February 29, 2026 (Jacksonville, Fla.) - Community Hospice & Palliative Care has earned accreditation from the National Institute for Jewish Hospice (NIJH), joining a national network of hospice providers recognized for their commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive care for Jewish patients at the end of life.

NIJH accreditation connects Community Hospice & Palliative Care with specialized education, training, and resources that support best practices in caring for Jewish patients who are seriously ill or terminally ill. These resources include guidance on Jewish customs, traditions, medical ethics, and spiritual practices that may arise during hospice care, ensuring patients and families feel respected, understood, and supported during an incredibly personal time.

The accreditation was earned following participation in the NIJH 40th Accreditation Conference, which brought together hospice leaders, chaplains of all faiths, rabbis, physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and bereavement professionals from across the country for in-depth education and collaboration.

“This accreditation enhances our ability to provide individualized, faith-informed care that honors the values and traditions of Jewish patients and families,” said Phillip Ward, President and CEO of Community Hospice & Palliative Care. “Our interdisciplinary teams are now even better equipped to support patients emotionally, spiritually, and culturally as they navigate the end-of-life journey.”

Through NIJH accreditation, Community Hospice & Palliative Care is included in a national database of accredited hospices that NIJH refers to families, rabbis, and community leaders seeking hospice providers experienced in Jewish end-of-life care.

“We congratulate Community Hospice & Palliative Care on earning this important accreditation,” said Rabbi Young, NIJH. “Their commitment to culturally sensitive care ensures that Jewish patients and families can receive hospice services that honor their beliefs, traditions, and values.”

Founded in 1985, NIJH works to alleviate suffering associated with serious and terminal illness by serving as a national resource and educational center for hospice, healthcare, and human service organizations. Its work focuses on advancing compassionate care for Jewish patients while supporting professionals across all healthcare settings.
