Take Stock in Children of Nassau County Welcomes New Executive Director

Take Stock in Children of Nassau County (TSICN) has announced the appointment of Alexis Holton as its new Executive Director, bringing with her more than 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience and a personal connection to the organization’s mission.

Holton first became involved with Take Stock in Children years ago as a mentor, an experience that she says left a lasting impression. Having once benefited from caring mentors and scholarships that opened doors to higher education, she understands firsthand the power of consistent support in a young person’s life.

“Take Stock’s mission resonates deeply with my own journey,” Holton shared. “I know how transformative mentorship and educational access can be, and I’m honored to lead an organization that provides these life-changing opportunities for students in Nassau County.”

Prior to joining TSICN, Holton served as Managing Director of People, Operations, and Strategy at City Year Jacksonville. In that role, she oversaw strategic planning, organizational development, and partnerships that supported thousands of students annually. She also managed a $5.5 million budget, worked closely with board and school district leaders, and secured donor and community support to strengthen programs.

A resident of Nassau County for the past decade, Holton is active in the Callahan community, where she lives with her husband and their three sons. She shared that she is eager to bring her skills and passion home: “This is where I live, where my children go to school, and where my family has built our lives. I can’t think of a better place to continue this important work.”

TSICN extends its deepest gratitude to Robin Lentz, its outgoing Executive Director, for her years of dedicated service and leadership. During her tenure, Robin played a pivotal role in advancing Take Stock in Children’s mission, through creative fundraising and community outreach. Under her guidance, the organization has experienced continued growth and has strengthened its commitment to qualified students by providing them with post-secondary opportunities.

“Robin’s leadership has been instrumental in positioning Take Stock in Children of Nassau for continued success,” said Regina Lee, Chair of the Board of Directors. “We thank her for her vision, energy, and the countless contributions made over the past seven years.”

TSICN provides low-income, high-achieving students with scholarships, mentors, and the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty through education. With Holton at the helm, the organization looks forward to building on its strong foundation and expanding its impact across the county.
