Upcoming Transit Survey Meetings

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority, in partnership with Nassau County, recently announced that it is conducting a study of public transportation opportunities in the region. The purpose of the project is to analyze the existing conditions and the changing landscape of the County, which has experienced rapid growth over the last couple of years, in order to develop a plan to enhance transit service within the County as well as exploring connections to neighboring transit providers in the region. The outcome of the study will be a set of short-term and long-term recommendations for transportation investments and strategies.

Public participation is an important part of developing study updates and various public outreach activities will support the plan. We previously released a survey link asking the community to provide feedback. However at this time, we would also like to announce that the JTA will also be hosting two public meetings in Nassau County where residents can come and speak with officials from the County and JTA. The meetings will include a presentation and exhibits for the public's review. The two meeting dates are as follows:

Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Callahan Multi-purpose building located at 543350 US Highway 1, Callahan.

Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the County Commission's Chambers located at 96136 Nassau Place, Yulee (within the James S. Page Governmental Complex).

Your input plays a crucial role in shaping the future of transit services and enhancing the overall mobility options available to a community. If you haven't already, we would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete the online survey as well.
