![]() Suicide can be a difficult topic to discuss, but a May Community Conversation on the subject drew a large number of local residents to discuss risks and prevention strategies. Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare will host a follow-up conversation about suicide that focuses on special populations including LGBTQ+, adolescents and older adults. Suicide in Special Populations: Continuing the Conversation will be held on Monday, August 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Nassau County Council on Aging Fernandina Beach Life Center, 1901 Island Walk Way. The event includes speakers who will outline the specific risks faced by these special populations, as well as how to identify the individuals at risk. Suicide in Special Populations: Continuing the Conversation is free and open to the public. In addition to the presentations, there will be time for questions and discussion with the speakers.
