Nassau County, FL, 11/3/22– Nassau County Supervisor of Elections Janet Adkins shares important election reminders with voters ahead of the quickly approaching November 8, 2022, General Election.
Over 9,500 vote-by-mail ballots have been returned to the Elections Office and have been canvassed and tabulated. The October 29 deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot to be mailed for the General Election has passed. However, a voter can pick up their own vote-by-mail ballot or may designate in writing another person to pick up their ballot before Election Day. The designee must provide photo identification and may pick up two ballots, not including their own ballot or immediate family members. Mail ballots must be signed by the voter and received by the Elections Office by 7pm Election Day to be counted. Vote-by-mail ballots can be mailed or returned to a Secure Ballot Intake Station at the Elections Office, M-F, 8am to 5pm, or at any Early Voting site during Early Voting hours. Early Voting in Nassau County began on Wednesday, October 26, and over 11,000 voters have voted early. Voters may choose to cast their ballot in person prior to Election Day at any one of our five Early Voting sites available through Saturday, November 5, 9am to 6pm at the following locations:
The last opportunity to vote is on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Polls will be open from 7am to 7pm. Voters must bring their current and valid photo and signature I.D. to vote. “Due to redistricting, your polling place may have changed. Please visit our website or download the new Vote Nassau FL mobile app to find your Election Day polling place.”, states Janet H. Adkins, Nassau County Supervisor of Elections. Each early voting site has a Secure Ballot Intake Station, formerly known as a drop box, for voters to return their vote-by-mail ballot during voting hours. Mail ballots deposited in each Secure Ballot Intake Station are returned daily to the Supervisor of Elections office for processing. State law does not allow Secure Ballot Intake Stations to be available at polling locations on Election Day.
