FERNANDINA BEACH, FL (July 29, 2022) – Bus donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County will assist with transporting children from schools to all three Clubs.
On Thursday evening, July 28th, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County assumed ownership of five donated 77-passenger buses from the Nassau County School Board. The Boys & Girls Clubs were one of several organizations named as recipients of the school district’s generous donation. Dr. Kathy Burns, Superintendent of Schools for Nassau County, presented Ann Moser, Board President, Samantha Daly, Service Director at Roberts Learning and Achievement Center, and Andrew Schmidt, BGC Nassau Vice President, with the vehicles and the necessary documentation to transfer ownership to BGC Nassau. As explosive growth in Nassau County continues, The Boys & Girls Clubs has responded to the increase in demand for their services by opening a pilot program in Hilliard at the Journey Church West Campus. Plans for further expansion are on the horizon, and the acquisition of five buses from the Nassau County School Board will help provide reliable transportation for all of our members. Community partnerships such as these allow The Boys and Girls of Nassau County to continue on an upward trajectory by providing services to as many families as possible.
