Nassau County Council on Aging
Liz Dunn, Communications Manager November 2, 2021 Nassau County Council on Aging’s (NCCOA’s) Caregiver Support Group meetings are now held twice each month – the second and fourth Wednesday. The next meeting is Wednesday, November 10, 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m., Janice Ancrum Senior Life Center, 1901 Island Walk Way, Fernandina Beach. In addition to our regular support group meeting, we will have a brief presentation on the topic of Family Dynamics. Family communication and relationships can become complicated and a source of stress for caregivers. Family expectations and gatherings during the holiday season can magnify tensions. Our speaker, Jackie Hayes, MDiv, DMin, BCC, is a longtime pastor, Hospital Chaplain at Ascension St. Vincent’s in Jacksonville, and Hospice Chaplain with Community Hospice and Palliative Care in Nassau County. Our second meeting of the month will be held Wednesday, November 24, 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m., Janice Ancrum Senior Life Center, 1901 Island Walk Way, Fernandina Beach. It will be a regular Caregiver Support Group Meeting with no guest speaker. The overall goal of the Caregiver Support Group is to offer support and education for caregivers. It is not suited for loved ones to attend; however all caregivers are welcome. Monthly meetings are free.
