![]() The Nassau County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announces the appointment of George Spicer. George joins the Board of Directors in working to achieve the mission of enhancing the business environment and quality of life in Nassau County. George is a proud and dedicated community leader in Nassau County. He spent 35 years as an active boilermaker and has been retired for 10 years. George helped construct both the Seminole Power Plant and the St. Johns River Power Plant. He and his wife Marilyn reside in Callahan and have four children, give grandchildren and two great grandchildren. George served as a Nassau County Commissioner for one four-year term as a representative of District Four. He received his Advanced County Commissioner Certification and was the first Nassau County Commissioner to participate in the Torchbearer Program, which gives Commissioners a chance to further their education and obtain leadership roles with the Florida Association of Counties. George has represented Nassau County on the Northeast Florida Regional Council Board of Directors and Finance Committee, the First Coast Workforce Development Consortium, the St. Mary's River Management Committee and the Canvassing Board.
