Leadership Nassau assists in the development of community leaders by providing participants from diverse backgrounds with an understanding of the problems and issues facing the community. The program fosters the development of leadership skills and techniques in an environment that encourages the establishment of new relationships and communication networks between the participants.

The program begins with a day of team building activities, pushing the students to learn more about themselves while simultaneously developing relationships with fellow class members. Additional program days include Economic Development Day, Education, Justice and Law Enforcement Day, and West of I-95 Day. Over the course of a year, the students will complete a total of 10 Leadership Nassau program days. “The Leadership Nassau program gave me the knowledge I needed to better understand and serve my community. There is so much to learn and experience in the program, whether you've lived here for one year or forty”, said Joshua Whitfield, Amelia Island Museum of History, Leadership Nassau Class 19 graduate.
