![]() The Nassau County Chamber of Commerce continues to advocate for affordable housing policies and programs, including supporting the new Florida Hometown Heroes Housing Program. The program is designed to make homeownership affordable for eligible frontline community workers such as law enforcement officers, firefighters, educators, healthcare professionals, childcare employees, and active military veterans. To qualify for the program, applicants must connect with a participating loan officer, provide certification of occupation, have a minimum credit score of 640 and meet the annual income threshold for Nassau County, which is $118,950. Qualified applicants can receive lower rates, fees and up to 5% of their first mortgage loan amount in down payment and closing cost assistance. For more information on the program, visit www.FloridaHousing.org/HometownHeroes. To help our local community reach those participating lenders, the Nassau County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a 'Hometown Heroes Home Lending Fair' on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 3:00-5:00 PM. The fair will be held at the Nassau County Chamber of Commerce office, located at 961687 Gateway Blvd., Suite 101-G in Fernandina Beach. The office is across the street from Cantina Louie at the Gateway to Amelia complex near Shave Bridge. The event is open and free to all eligible community front line workers. Home Hero participating lenders include Capital City Home Loans, Gateway Mortgage, LoanDepot, and Regions Bank; representatives from each will be in attendance to answer specific questions about the program.
