3/2/23 @ 3:15 p.m. - At the Monday, February 27th meeting, the Board approved Resolution No. 2023-013, declaring March 2023 as National Procurement Month in Nassau County, Florida. This month is recognized annually by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing to recognize public procurement professionals who work hard everyday to ensure that cities and counties are securing the best price possible for goods and services.
In addition to overseeing the County's purchasing, Nassau County's Procurement Department prepares and solicits bids for RFPs (Request for Proposals) and RFQs (Request for Qualifications). They also work daily to ensure the most effective use of taxpayer dollars while maintaining the highest standard of service within a competitive, fair, open and transparent procurement process. The Board commends Procurement Director, Lanaee Gilmore, and Procurement Specialist, Thomas "TJ" O'Brien, for all they do for Nassau County and the taxpayers. -Sabrina Robertson Public Information Officer
