Florida Making Strides Towards Rural Broadband Access

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity's (DEO) Office of Broadband works with local and state government agencies, community organizations, and private businesses to increase the availability and effectiveness of broadband internet throughout the state, especially in small and rural communities. Through these partnerships, the Office of Broadband will provide grant funding that focuses on the expansion of broadband internet.

DEO is enlisting the help of Floridians to take an internet speed test, to assist in further developing Florida's Broadband Availability Map. The Broadband Availability Map, identifies location speed, connectivity, and access to broadband internet services.

We encourage you to participate in the state of Florida’s efforts to identify the broadband internet needs of Florida’s communities, and please help us spread the word about taking the internet speed test.
