Ed Hubel Appointed as Chairman of the Nassau County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors12/18/2019 ![]() The Nassau County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Ed Hubel, FACHE, President of Baptist Medical Center Nassau, as Chairman of the Board of Directors for 2020. Ed officially took his place as the Chairman on December 12, 2019 at the Chamber of Commerce's Annual Membership Luncheon. Ed Hubel has been with Baptist Health since 1986 in various capacities but has served as the President of Baptist Medical Center since 2016. Under his leadership, Baptist Nassau has received an A rating in patient safety four consecutive times. Ed serves on several community boards and as a mentor for future healthcare leaders through the American College of Healthcare Executives and local college and health organizations. Looking ahead to 2020, Hubel said it was imperative the Chamber embrace change and continue to be precision focused on the mission. "Our membership is changing, and we must find a balance to preserve some of the tried-and-true traditions but also be willing to introduce new ways to engage our business community that are different than what we've done in the past. We must utilize new resources to change and prepare for tomorrow which include collaboration with and learning from our young professionals and preparing for the future of our next generation of leaders and decision makers," said Hubel. The Board of Directors sets the goals and policy direction for the Nassau County Chamber of Commerce. Its mission is to promote a vibrant business environment and economic prosperity in Nassau County by providing vision, expertise and innovative solutions.
