A Taste of Wine by Steve and the Fernandina Beach Golf Club are hosting a wine tasting and dinner. You may attend the wine tasting followed by dinner or the wine tasting only.

Wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres will be 4:30 to 6 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. Three major distributors will be presenting wines from around the world. There will be a program with a list of wines being offered.

The Jacksonville Jaguars Team Teal will host a Nassau County pep rally to revive support and pride in the team and increase ticket sales on May 17 in Fernandina Beach.

"A new owner and coach, an inspiring draft and a reinvigorated fan base are combining to create what I expect to be one of the most exciting seasons in Jaguar history," said Tony Boselli, commissioner for Team Teal. "Shahid Khan is committed to a winning team and a memorable experience for Jaguars fans. I want every fan in Jacksonville to be a part of this unforgettable season, and that starts with building our momentum at these Team Teal Rallies." 
 
The rally will be family friendly and include appearances by coaches, players, ROAR cheerleaders and Jaxson de Ville. (Specific coach and player appearances will be announced prior to the rally.)

Activities include free food, interactive and inflatable games and drawings for prizes from the Jaguars and local vendors. The rally is free and open to the public.

The Plantation Guild and Gallery in the Shops at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation presents its "Spring Fling" show opening with special artist of the month, David Marshall.

 

A North Florida artist whose body of work spans 60 years and includes a range of media from pen and ink to metal sculpture, Marshall is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in advertising and a minor in art. He is best known for his current work with assemblages and welded steel creations made with found objects. His most recent  emphasis has been on folk art masks that embody traditional aboriginal themes with his own interpretation and execution.

 

Join us for this exciting new show and unique and wonderful metal mask sculptures by david marshall. The evening will again be sponsored by Osprey Village who will be providing the refreshments.

The Amelia Island Museum of History invites you to its next 3rd Friday on 3rd Street celebrating the 450th anniversary of the French Huguenots landing on Amelia Island and eventually founding Fort Caroline in the Jacksonville area.

Judy Peacock, a history professor at Florida State College at Jacksonville, will discuss René Goulaine de Laudonnière and the Huguenots. Laudonniere was one of the leaders of the ill-fated expedition, but managed to escape the massacre brought on by the Spanish. Discover the 16th century French presence in northeast Florida and the events that ended it.
